Hamilton Man Found: Lost For 3 Years in Jackson Square: “I just couldn’t find the exit.”

Jackson SquareTerry Florence, an Italian immigrant with very little English, was a 1st year engineering student at McMaster out to buy his girlfriend a Christmas present, late 2009.   “After my 60 time on Jackson Squares, I no have hope.  I always end for Dollarama.”

Living off the water from the fountain and left-over food in the food court, Florence began getting comfortable, finding a nice little staircase to call home.

In the future, Jackson Square is setting out an elaborate, colour-coded flooring plan so this doesn’t happen again.  Staff say there’s no reason someone should have to live at a mall for 3 years.
